A Blue Jean Shirt? What?

Jeans: Target | Top: Forever 21 | Belt:Forever 21 | Sandals:Payless | Flower & Bracelets: Sam Moon

Many moons ago, a good friend (Joy), told me that chambray shirts were going to be the next big fashion trend.  I said, "What? Do mean blue jean shirts? Oh, heck no, you will NEVER catch me wearing a blue jean shirt." Yes, I said blue jean, not denim, not chambray, but BLUE JEAN. I haven't worn anything blue jean, except on my legs, since I was a wee one. I can't even tell you the last time I wore a denim skirt or shorts.  Don't get me wrong, it looks great on some, but it's just not really my style. So, low and behold, the "chambray" shirt made it's popular appearance in stores, magazines, on blogs and the runway. CRAP. This can't be happening. Blue-jean shirts, cool? Stylish? A staple? NOOOOO! I am not going to succumb to this trend. I will not do it.

Well, obviously a caved. Call me a follower. Tell me have no willpower. Say that I am a copy cat. I won't argue. However, I will say, that I held back for quite some time, waiting for "the one" that I could see myself wearing more than just once. I finally found "it" a few weeks ago at no other than, yep, you guessed it, Forever 21. Did you have any doubts? If you have been reading along, you are fully aware that I can always find a treasure at that store.

You know what the irony is of this whole story?  I bought a pair of freaking leopard skinny jeans before a chambray shirt. I would bet my whole life savings, which isn't much, that this little blue jean shirt will pop up more on the blog than the cat's meow denim.  Agree?

So, since I have hopped on the blue jean chambray shirt train, I suppose I will hit up eBay and purchase the $14.50 bubble necklace in every color. I like to refer to this bauble as the Blogger Bubble.

What train have you hopped on lately?

Don't forget to join in on the Bauble Swap. July 15th is the VERY last day to join. Don't wait until the last minute! Thank you to all the ladies that have already signed up! I can't wait to see what everyone gets!

Cheers to being a copy cat, follower with zero willpower.

SO cute! I've been having the same issue with the chambray. In February my friend told me- they're going to be in. I didn't believe her. When the shirts started coming out- I refused. Now....I'm caving and I want one.... didn't think it would happen!

Your outfit looks awesome! Have a great day :)

Haha, I guess never say never right! I didn't think I'd ever be caught dead in a pair of colored denim, but alas, I'm wearing them. :)

I'm dying over your jeans. And I sport my chambray shirt proudly. If I'da waited a few more years to get rid of my REAL denim shirt from back in the day, I coulda called it a vintage one!

I've worn chambray with my target leopard jeans too! I love the combo and loving the pink flower!! Chambray is seriously the best and it goes with everything.

You crack me up girl! I would never call you a follower! Love the chambray with your leopard pants, super cute!

Love the "blog bubble" necklace too, it is everywhere isn't it?? I will definitely not be forking over the money to J Crew for theirs but the less expensive just as stylish ones we see all over the blogs are quite cute and more practical for me!

Have a great Wednesday!

Ha ha, I felt the exact same way! Now I can't imagine my wardrobe without a chambray shirt...it's so funny how that happens.

I really love this outfit! Super chic. I love the pops of pink and those jeans are fabulous on you!

I recently caved and got a chambray shirt, and those same leopard skinnies! I haven't paired the two, but love what you've done with this outfit! Must pin for later inspiration. My significant other teased me mercilessly when I wore the skinnies to dinner (Peg Bundy?), but I think cuffing them like you've done changes the entire look. Must try that, too!

ha, I kinda feel the same about chambray shirts! By the way? totally jealous of the pants. I wanted those when Target had them but The Fiance told me he'd make fun of me every time I wore them. What a pain.

You look great in this top!! I was totally against chambray but I gave in. I have yet to rock a jean shirt but you are making me think/see it's acceptable. You're one hot mama!!

You better work those pants, girl! (and that blue jean top) :-)

I thought it was hysterical that you were all against a chamray or blue jean shirt, but you had no qualms rockin' leopard pants! I just adore you. I have the bubble necklace in a bunch of colors. In my defense I loved it before the blogger bubble bauble frenzy. If we lived closer I would let you borrow said blogger bubble bauble, but sadly we do not. p.s. I may have to copy that flower pin cause I have one and now you've inspired me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that we would be dangerous if we went shopping together. Just saying.

Smooches!

I TOTALLY agree with you!! When I first heard this was a trend it was as shocking as saying everyone was wearing overalls again. I was literally picturing like 1990 style jean shirts and cringing. Now I wear my chambray shirt with white pants or over dresses at least once a week!!

This whole look is SO cute!! I've been toying with the idea of buying a chambray top & I'm pretty sure you have just convinced me. I was the same way...blue jean!?! no way. but it's just so cute on you lady! Also been thinking about buying the bubble necklace on ebay..It's just such a great deal!
